Excalibur

This tree is my son’s masterpiece. I just set-up the tree & he did all the decorating, he don’t want me to help so it’s all his credit. It took him 3 days to finish it. He does it in between watching TV, playing PS2 & other stuff that he does. And the finishing touch is that sword that he stuck. He said, so it would be easy for him to find it.

In memory of…

Three nights ago I had a dream about my dead grandparents (father side). In my dream, I was waiting for my grandmother & my aunt in a waiting shed. We’re about to visit my grandfather’s grave (note my grandmother is also dead). We brought some flowers & lighted some candles for offering.

The following day, I dreamt about my dead father. He died 2 years ago. I can’t remember exactly what my dream was about but he was there & he is all I remember. It’s been over a year since I have last visited their graves. I just don’t have the luxury of visiting them often as I am now living abroad. Last All Souls day I just lighted some candles & offered some prayers for them at home.

I wonder what message/s they want to convey. They are always in my heart, specially my father. I was his little helper when I was still living with them. Growing up in the province was tough. When he’s away for work, I was the one who assumes the manly works at home. I cut the grasses in the yard, I cut wood for fuel, I was the handyman when he was not around (but just simple things though that a high schooler is capable of doing). When he needed an extra hand in fixing something in our roof I was the one who climbed up with him.

Remembering these still brings pain.

My father loved chocolate, but I don’t have any right now. All I have are flour, some milk & cocoa. So, I baked some chocolate cupcake instead & made some offering today, I lighted a candle & offered some prayers.

Now, I think that maybe they just want to tell me that they’re still watching over me.
